KANNUR, KERALA — A youth sustained severe injuries after a speeding private bus collided with his two-wheeler at Pallikkunnu, near Krishna Menon Women’s College in Kannur.
The victim has been identified as Jithin, a resident of Cherukunnu in Kannapuram. According to eyewitnesses and reports, the accident occurred when a private bus named Krithika attempted to overtake another bus and slammed directly into Jithin’s motorcycle.
Due to the critical nature of his injuries, Jithin was immediately rushed for emergency treatment and has been shifted to a specialized hospital in Mangaluru for advanced medical care.
CCTV footage capturing the reckless overtaking maneuver and subsequent collision has since surfaced, sparking renewed concern over rash driving and private bus competition on narrow stretches in Kerala. Local police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
