Tension in Khandwa as Muslim Bride Dragged Away Following Inter-Faith Marriage; CCTV Video Triggers Outrage

Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh: High drama and public outrage erupted in the busy Malikua area of Khandwa after a newly married Muslim woman was allegedly thrashed and forcibly dragged away by her family members shortly after marrying a Hindu man.

The victim, Tanjim Mansuri, and her partner, Tejpal Rajput, had recently solemnized their marriage at the local Mahadevgarh temple and were completing notarization paperwork at a nearby legal office. According to Tejpal, nearly a dozen of Tanjim’s relatives arrived on the scene, assaulted him, and forcibly dragged his wife across the street before stuffing her into a waiting car.

Shocking CCTV footage of the incident went viral, showing a group of people physically pulling the woman away while assaulting the groom. Prior to the incident, Tanjim had reportedly posted a self-recorded video confirming she was a consenting adult marrying Tejpal of her own free will.

Tejpal has submitted the CCTV footage and an official complaint to the Kotwali Police, demanding protection and swift action against the perpetrators. Police officials confirmed an investigation is underway to trace the woman and record her statement before court proceedings proceed.
