Caught on CCTV: Newlywed Dies Seconds After Reaching Jhansi Hotel Room; Family Suspects Murder

Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh: A tragic incident from Jhansi, UP, has surfaced involving the sudden death of a 27-year-old newlywed woman, Muskan. Married just four months ago on June 29 to Nilesh, a bank manager from Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, Muskan had returned to her parental home in Jhansi to prepare for a Railway Junior Engineer examination.

The incident took place after Nilesh arrived in Jhansi and took her along under the pretext of visiting his aunt, but instead checked into a local hotel in the Sipri Bazaar area. Viral CCTV footage from the hotel corridor captured the moments preceding her death. In the video, a hotel staff member and Nilesh are seen walking into the room, with Muskan following behind. Within five seconds of stopping near the doorway, she suddenly collapsed backwards onto the floor. Nilesh and the hotel staff immediately carried her into the room and later rushed her to the district hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Muskan’s father, Ramji Lal Ahirwar, has alleged murder, pointing to severe head injuries and claiming that Nilesh assaulted her. He further alleged that after the marriage, the family discovered Nilesh was already married, leading to frequent quarrels between the couple.

Police have taken Nilesh into custody for questioning and inspected the hotel premises. Senior Police Officer (SP City) Preeti Singh stated that while the CCTV shows Muskan collapsing suddenly, the exact cause of death and the nature of the head injuries will only be confirmed once the official post-mortem report is released. The investigation remains ongoing.
