BENGALURU, KARNATAKA — Law enforcement authorities in Bengaluru have arrested a 25-year-old daily-wage worker from Bihar for allegedly creating and posting a fake, AI-generated video showing a bomb explosion at the Vidhana Soudha, the seat of Karnataka’s state legislature.
The accused, identified as Hazrat Ali Shoiab, a resident of Bihar’s Araria district working in Bengaluru as a pipe-fitter, posted the synthetic footage on his Instagram account. The video captured the exterior of the historic building while depicting a massive blast, alongside visual effects showing him miming a pistol trigger pull towards the structure with the caption, “Vidhanasabha uda diya bam se” (“Blew up assembly with a bomb”).

Officials confirmed that no actual blast occurred and booked the suspect under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for circulating false content capable of inducing public panic and security alarms. Investigation into his motive is currently underway.
