3 Turnaround Stocks to Track Before a Potential Market Bounce-Back

India’s stock market is home to several companies undergoing business turnarounds, with improving quarterly performance potentially providing fresh momentum to their shares. Three companies highlighted in a recent market analysis are Venky’s India, Wendt India and TTK Healthcare.

The companies operate across different sectors, including poultry, precision engineering and medical devices. Their recent Q1 FY27 performance and management commentary have drawn attention from investors looking for companies showing signs of improving fundamentals.

1. Venky’s India

Venky’s India operates across four major businesses, with its poultry business contributing roughly 60% of revenue.

The poultry segment has faced margin pressure, primarily because of higher input costs. Maize, an important component of poultry feed, has reportedly become significantly more expensive over the past year, putting pressure on profitability.

However, the company’s other businesses are showing stronger momentum.

Its edible oil business has benefited from the company’s ability to pass higher soybean-related costs on to customers. Capacity utilisation in this segment is currently around 70–75%, with management targeting approximately 90%.

The animal health business is another potential growth area. The company produces vaccines, antibiotics and nutritional supplements for animals. Current capacity utilisation is around 35%, leaving room for additional growth if demand continues to increase.

Venky’s Express, its consumer-facing business, has also been expanding rapidly, offering ready-to-cook chicken products through retail outlets.

The stock was highlighted as trading at around 14 times earnings, making it a company investors may want to study further.

2. Wendt India

Wendt India operates in the precision engineering industry and manufactures abrasive products used for grinding, polishing, shaping and finishing materials.

Its products serve industries including automotive components and other engineering applications.

The company benefits from the broader growth potential of India’s precision-engineering and manufacturing sectors. Exports account for approximately 30% of revenue, with overseas sales reportedly increasing at a strong pace.

Wendt India has the backing of the Murugappa Group, providing it with an established corporate parent.

One important factor when assessing the company’s valuation is its recent earnings turnaround. Its price-to-earnings ratio may appear high based on current earnings, but that figure can look different if profitability continues to recover and earnings expand.

The recent quarterly performance and management commentary therefore make Wendt India a stock worth tracking for investors researching the precision-engineering sector.

3. TTK Healthcare

The third company is TTK Healthcare, which operates across multiple business segments.

Several of its businesses are relatively mature, including consumer products, sexual wellness, food products and animal healthcare.

The company’s medical devices business, however, is attracting particular attention.

This segment produces products including knee and hip implants as well as heart valves. The business grew approximately 27% year-on-year in the latest quarter discussed.

The medical-device opportunity is linked to India’s efforts to increase domestic manufacturing and reduce dependence on imported medical equipment.

If domestic manufacturers can capture a larger share of the market, companies operating in this segment could have significant room for expansion.

TTK Healthcare was highlighted as trading at approximately 20 times earnings, with its improving medical-device business forming a key part of the turnaround story.

What Investors Should Watch

Venky’s India, Wendt India and TTK Healthcare represent three very different turnaround stories.

Venky’s is being driven by improving performance outside its core poultry business, Wendt India is benefiting from precision-engineering demand and recovering earnings, while TTK Healthcare is seeing stronger growth from medical devices.

However, improving quarterly results do not automatically guarantee continued share-price performance. Investors should examine revenue growth, margins, debt, cash flows, capacity utilisation, valuations and management guidance before making an investment decision.

These companies should therefore be viewed as stocks for further research rather than automatic “buy” recommendations.
